Elder to Youth/Elder to Homeless Cultural and Skills Programming

AIWF strives to ensure access to our urban on-the-land cultural site for teaching, mentorship, and support with traditional ceremonies, traditional food preparation, language revitalization, traditional tool making, on-the-land teachings, medicine teachings, sweat lodges, traditional counselling, and cultural gatherings. More than 90% of the north’s homeless population are indigenous, and there is an increasing need for supportive services to address the need for healing and support among this population before other interventions such as housing will succeed.
